Rigly Ener-Gee Paste Single 80g
RIGLY ENER-GEE has been specifically designed to provide a readily available source of energy which is derived from a special blend of oils. It is well known that horses utilize oils more efficiently to produce energy than carbohydrate, however this product includes a presentation of oils that have been prepared in a manner that makes them readily available and readily absorbed. In addition it includes two sources of carbohydrates - one being oat bran and the other being a polysaccharide blend of ingredients called maltodextrins.
These are digested in the small intestine of the horse relatively rapidly and will supply a second source of energy to the horse during competition. Thus, the combination of these ingredients provides both a rapid and a slower source of energy when needed. In addition, the formulation includes Trimethylglycine (TMG) as well as L-Carnitine. L-Carnitine has been well published as a naturally occurring amino acid which plays a vital role in the metabolism of fat. Carnitine boosts energy by stimulating the body's burning of triglycerides as fuel, and sparing the supply of glycogen stored in the liver for heavier exertion. During exercise, the body will burn fat at a rate of 75-80% of maximum exertion, thus less glycogen from carbohydrates is burned.
TMG detoxifies the powerful pro-oxidant and free-radical generator homocysteine, which is now known to be a leading cause of heart and artery disease. It is a natural amino acid that occurs in food and is produced in the body during the metabolism of choline. By providing supplemental TMG we can spare much of the body's choline reserves for conversion to acetylcholine.
This could also explain the improved muscle response that athletes experience after taking TMG. The recommended dose of RIGLY ENER-GEE is 80g that should be provided shortly before a horse participates in competition - in particular when the horse would benefit from an energy boost. The product is supplied in the form of a smooth paste that comes as an 80g dosage in a syringe. It is recommended that one syringe is used as a complete dose.
If horses that are competing in endurance races experience what can be described as exhausted horse syndrome, they usually do not wish to eat or drink. If this is suspected it will be beneficial to consider utilizing RIGLY ENER-GEE to encourage the animal to start drinking and eating.
